To achieve this, the BT-50 features an Electronic Stability Program that encompasses a myriad of advanced active safety technologies like; Emergency Brake Assist, Load Adaptive Control, Hill Descent Control^, Hill Launch Assist, Trailer Sway Assist, Traction Control and Roll Over Mitigation. These features adjust engine torque and braking to individual wheels to help avoid steering problems as well as track the vehicle’s movements and correct any issues with an inconsistent driving line.

This increased excellence in both passive and active safety technologies has been reflected by the Mazda BT-50 receiving a maximum 5 star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) in 2011.
